Conversion: quotes to sales

Updated

Wherever quotes and sales sit side by side, Agency Edge divides the policies written by the quotes logged for the same period and shows the result as a percentage.

What goes into it

The quotes are the counts your team enters in Log Activity for Auto, Fire, Life and Health. Agency Edge keeps one total per person, per product line, per month, so a quote belongs to the month it was logged in. See Activities: define them and log them.

The sales are policies in the sales log, placed by written date. A policy counts whether or not it has issued, and a household with three policies counts three times.

A quote is a count, not a record, so nothing ties one quote to the policy it became. Each figure compares two totals for the same period.

Read it on Home

1
Open Home and pick the month with the arrows beside its name.
2
Find the strip with LEADS RECEIVED, QUOTES LOGGED and CONVERSION.
3
Under CONVERSION, read Quote → bind.

The line above it, Lead → customer, is lead conversion: it is built from leads matched to sales, not from quotes, and Reading the ROI page covers it.

Where else it appears

  • Goals on Home opens a window. On its monthly view each product card ends with QUOTES and Conversion.
  • On Team, press Columns and tick Close rate to add it to the list.
  • Click a person on Team. Profile has Close rate · last 6 months, and Activity has a Quotes card with Close % by period and close % for each product line.
  • On Sales, Trends has Monthly Averages by Producer with a Conv % column. It appears when the range covers more than one month and quotes are logged.

What the numbers mean

  • Quote → bind on Home: policies written in the month ÷ QUOTES LOGGED for that month, for the whole office, to one decimal. In the current month, policies run through today.
  • Conversion in the Goals window: the same sum for one product line.
  • Close rate on the Team list: a person's policies ÷ their quotes for the months in the date range, as a whole percent.
  • Close rate · last 6 months: policies ÷ quotes for each of the last six finished months. A month with no quotes is left as a gap.
  • Close % on the Activity tab: sales ÷ quotes on each row, by month within a year or by year under All time. The total row divides only the sales from periods that have quotes, and a line under it names the span when that leaves sales out.
  • Conv % on Sales: a person's policies in the range ÷ their quotes for the months in that range. Hover it for the figure per sale and per household.

With no quotes for the period there is nothing to divide by. Home reads log quotes to see this and the other places show a dash. No quotes is not treated as 0%.

A figure over 100% is shown as it is. More policies were written than quotes logged: either some quotes were not logged, or a quote from an earlier month became a policy in this one. Home puts a warning marker beside the figure when that happens.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is our conversion over 100%?

Policies outnumbered quotes for the period. Agency Edge cannot tell which quote became which policy, so it shows the real ratio and leaves the cause to you: unlogged quotes, or quotes from an earlier month.

Does it count households or policies?

Policies. A household that takes Auto and Fire is two sales, and it is two quotes if both lines were quoted. Only the Conv % hover on Sales also shows a per-household figure.

Are sales counted when written or when issued?

When written. A policy counts in the month of its written date even if it has not issued yet.

Is this the same as lead conversion?

No. Lead conversion compares leads with the sales matched to them, and it lives on the Leads page. Quote conversion needs no leads at all, only logged quotes and the sales log.
