Set your yearly goals
Updated
Yearly goals are typed once in Settings, split into months for you, and then read by Home to tell you whether the month is on pace.
Where goals are set
Goals are entered in Settings, on the Goals tab. The Goals button on Home opens a window that shows goals; nothing is typed there.
The tab has two sections, Office Goals and Individual Goals, and arrows that change the year, up to one year ahead. The owner always has this tab; a team member on Basic access never does.
Set the office's goals
There is one row for each product line the office has switched on, so goals are always per product. Production is a count of policies, Premium is in dollars, and Gain / Loss may be negative. What you type saves by itself.
If the office has past sales on file, Set from history can fill the year: choose what to Start from and how much to Grow by, adjust any number, and confirm. A year with no goals yet offers both routes in a banner, Set from history and Type them in.
How a yearly goal becomes monthly goals
When a yearly number is saved, Agency Edge splits it evenly across the twelve months. The twelve always add back up to the year, so a goal of 25 becomes 2 a month with one month of 3.
The even split is the only automatic one. To shape the year yourself, type the months:
The window only lists numbers that already have a yearly goal, so set the year first. And changing a yearly number on the Annual Goals card splits the months evenly again for every product on the card, so shape the months last.
Goals for each person
Choose Individual Goals. The Team goals table has a row for each person on goals and a column for each product line. The switch above it moves between Production, Premium, Quotes and Activities.
- Press Edit to type straight into the table, then Done.
- Click a name, or Details ›, to open that person's own card. It has the same Monthly → link and no Gain / Loss column.
- Fill goals for the team sets goals for several people at once.
What Home shows once goals exist
- The sentence under the month gains its goal half: "ahead of your 200 goal" or "short of your 200 goal".
- POLICIES and PREMIUM each show the goal, a bar, a pace chip and "Projected … by month end".
- Each Production by product card shows its goal, and "✓ Goal hit" once the product reaches it.
- When the office met its monthly goal in each of the last two or more months, the highlighted card under the totals says so: "All product goals hit 3 months in a row — Jul, Aug, Sep".
Until a goal exists, the totals and the product cards read "No goal set", with a Set one link to the Goals tab.
What the numbers mean
The Goals button on Home opens the Goals window. Monthly shows the current month by product, and Annual shows the year so far.
- "Actual" is what has been written so far, "Goal" is the month's or the year's goal, and "Projected" is where it ends at the current rate.
- The small mark on each bar is where you should be today, counted in business days.
- "↑ On Pace" means policies are at or past that mark. "↓ Behind" means they are short of it.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can goals be typed into the Goals window on Home?
No. That window shows goals; it does not take them. Goals are typed in Settings, on the Goals tab.
Why did the monthly numbers go back to an even split?
A yearly number was changed on the Annual Goals card, and saving one splits the months evenly again. Set the year first, then shape the months with Monthly →.
Can one product have a goal and another have none?
Yes. Leave a row empty and it shows a dash. On Home that product's card reads "No goal set", and the others keep their pace chip.
