The Leads log
Updated
The Leads log is the list of every internet lead your office has uploaded, one row for each lead.
Open it
The owner always has Leads. A Basic member does not, and it is not in their menu. A Custom member has it when the owner gives them Leads. If their data is limited to certain people, the log lists only the leads linked to those people's sales.
The columns
The table opens with Received, Lead Name, Provider, Type, Product, State, Cost, Subsidy, Net Cost, Duration and Zip, then Status. Subsidy and Duration drop out when no lead in view has a value.
Columns, above the table, shows or hides a column with a tick. Under More columns are Carrier, Age, Return and Billable. Drag a column, or use its arrows, to move it. Lead Name stays first, and Reset puts the layout back. The layout is saved to your login.
Filter and search
The pills above the filter bar count the leads in view: Total, Billable, Returned and Net Cost, with Sold Leads, Credited, Rejected and Duplicates when there are any. Every pill except Net Cost filters the list when clicked. Click it again, or click Total, to go back.
The filter bar holds, from the left:
- The date button and its arrows. Pick a month, or All Time, YTD or Custom for your own dates.
- All Products, All States, All Types for Live Calls or Data Leads, and All Providers.
- All Lead Profiles, when your files carry a lead profile.
- All Leads, the status list: Sold, Billable Only, Non-Billable, Returned, Credited and Duplicates.
- Search, which looks in the lead name, provider, product, state, zip, carrier and lead profile.
Each list takes more than one choice. Reset All clears them and puts the date back to your usual range. The filters carry over when you switch to another Leads tab.
Sort and page
Click a column heading to sort by it, and click again to reverse it. The log opens on Received, newest first. It shows 50 leads to a page. The count of leads shown and the Prev and Next buttons are under the table.
What the badges mean
The Status column carries one or more badges:
- SOLD — the lead is linked to at least one sale.
- DUP — an earlier lead has the same name and zip code.
- RETURNED — a return is waiting on the vendor.
- CREDITED — the vendor accepted the return.
- REJECTED — the vendor refused the return.
- NON-BILL — the vendor did not bill for the lead.
A sold row also has Details, which opens the match with its sale. The Fresh, Repeat and Aged pills are not on this tab. They sit above the attribution table on Conversions.
Row actions
Only the owner sees the tick boxes and the Actions column. The icons on a row are:
- View lead details — everything stored for the lead, with the row as it was uploaded.
- Add note — a note about the lead.
- Edit lead — change the name, product, zip, cost, subsidy or net cost in the row, then Save or Cancel.
- Link to sale — connect the lead to a sale by hand. See Link or unlink a lead and a sale.
- Delete lead — removes the lead and its links to sales for good.
To change many leads at once, tick their rows. In the bar that appears, pick a field under Choose field..., choose the value, and press Apply, then Confirm. Delete in the same bar removes every ticked lead. Credits and returns uses this bar.
Snapshot
Snapshot, at the right of the tab row, downloads a PDF of the tab as it is on screen. The Leads log has no spreadsheet export.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why can't I see the Actions column?
Only the owner can edit or delete leads. Anyone else with Leads sees the same list without the tick boxes and Actions.
A lead is missing from the log. Where is it?
Look at the date button first. The log opens on your usual date range, so choose All Time. Then clear the other filters and search for the name.
Does a change made here survive the next upload?
Yes. A value changed with Edit lead is kept when the vendor's file is uploaded again.
What happens to a sale when we delete its lead?
The sale stays in the sales log. Only the lead and its link to the sale are removed.
