Find the settings

1
Open Settings from the menu and choose the Payouts tab.
2
Under Payout Defaults, read the Office Settings line. Period shows how your pay period closes today.
3
Press Edit to open the Payout Settings window.

The two pay periods

Under When the pay period closes there are two choices.

  • End of the calendar month is the one tagged Recommended. The month is the pay period. You can run Pay Team as often as you like, and each run pays what has been earned so far. Each period closes at midnight on its last day, in your office's timezone.
  • When I run Pay Team makes each run close the period and open the next. A period is what you paid, from one run to the next.

There is no twice-a-month or every-two-weeks setting. An office that pays on those days picks either choice and runs Pay Team on its own pay days.

Whichever you pick, bonus thresholds are measured on the calendar month.

The payouts start date

The Payouts start date is for an office that paid its team another way before Agency Edge. Sales issued on or after the date are paid in Agency Edge. Money from before it is kept as history. It is shown month by month, it cannot be edited, and it is never offered to a Pay Team run.

Suppose Blue Oak Insurance paid its team another way through September 2026 and sets the date to October 2026. A policy issued on September 28 stays history. One issued on October 3 is paid in Agency Edge. On the Payouts page, September and each month before it reads Imported history.

With End of the calendar month you choose a month, and the date is the 1st of it. With When I run Pay Team you choose any day.

You first answer this in the setup wizard. Until your first Pay Team run you can change it in the Payout Settings window. After that run the date is set and its row no longer appears.

What is locked, and when

During setup, changes in this window save as you make them. Once setup is finished the window opens locked.

Before your first Pay Team run, the title reads Locked. Press Change settings, confirm in Change payout settings?, make your change and press Save. It applies right away, and your past numbers are recalculated with it.

After a Pay Team run, the title reads Locked — Pay Team has run. A change no longer reaches back. It starts on the next 1st, and everything before then is paid under your current settings.

1
Press Change settings.
2
In Change how your team is paid?, press Continue, or Contact support if you would like help first.
3
Choose the new settings. The line that begins From lists each change and the day it starts.
4
Tick I understand these changes start and press Schedule change.

A Scheduled: line then sits at the top of the window, with Edit and Cancel change beside it. If you are moving from When I run Pay Team to End of the calendar month, the window asks you to run Pay Team one last time to close out your current period.

The history of changes

At the bottom of the window, Settings history lists Original settings first, then one line for each change: the month it started, what changed, and who made it. A change that has not started yet is marked as scheduled.

Frequently Asked Questions

We pay twice a month. Which choice is ours?

Either works. With End of the calendar month, run Pay Team on each pay day, and each run pays what has been earned so far that month. With When I run Pay Team, each run closes a period, so your periods follow your own pay days.

Can I move the payouts start date later on?

Only until your first Pay Team run. Once a run has been made, the date is set and the window no longer shows it.

Why are the choices greyed out?

The window is locked once setup is finished. Press Change settings at the top to unlock it.

Does the pay period change how bonuses are counted?

No. Bonus thresholds are measured on the calendar month, whatever the pay period.

What about a sale that issues after the month it was written in?

With When Sales Issue chosen, it is paid in the month it issues. Chargebacks and carryovers shows where it appears until then.
