Upload your first leads file

Updated

A leads file is the list of internet leads a vendor sent you, and uploading it puts those leads on the Leads page.

Choose the provider and lead type

1
Click Data in the menu. In the Data Management window, choose Upload Data.
2
Under Data type, choose Internet Leads.
3
Under Lead Provider, pick the vendor the file came from, such as Northwind Leads. To add one, type its name and choose the line that offers to add it.
4
Under Lead Type, press Data Leads or Live Calls.

Both choices stay selected between uploads, ready for the same provider's next file.

A lead provider lives on one of your sources. If a new provider's name matches none of them, Agency Edge asks which source it is. Pick one, or choose the line for a new source.

Add the file and check the mapping

1
Drag the file onto the box marked Click to browse, or click the box and pick the file. It takes .xls, .xlsx and .csv files of up to 50 MB.
2
Read the preview: how many columns and rows the file holds, and its first rows.
3
Press Review mapping.

The mapping window is named for the provider: "Map your Northwind Leads file". Agency Edge's fields are on the left and your columns are on the right.

  • Required — Received Date, and under Who the lead is at least one of Lead Name, Phone, or First Name with Last Name. A link in that heading swaps the single name for the two-part one.
  • Optional — Zip Code, tagged Helps matching, and Retail Cost, tagged ROI, then Subsidy, Net Cost, Product Line, State, Lead Profile and a few more. The import works without them.

To change a match, click the column beside a field and choose another. When the top line reads Ready to import, press Import. That closes the window and keeps the mapping, which is saved for that provider's next file.

Import the leads

Press Upload & Process. The file then appears under Uploaded today with its counts: imported, updated, already in your log, and blank rows, which had no name and no number to import.

If the file had no cost column, a note asks you to add the cost under Office costs so ROI can calculate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Data Leads and Live Calls?

They are the two kinds of internet lead Agency Edge keeps apart. A provider that sells both sends two files. Upload each one under its own type.

Do we have to map a cost column?

No. Without Retail Cost or Net Cost, the leads still import, and you add the cost under Office costs afterwards.

What happens if we upload the same leads file twice?

Leads that are already there are counted as already in your log. Nothing is added twice.
