Split a sale between two producers

When two producers work one sale together, you can split it. Each producer gets half: half a policy on their count and half the premium on their numbers.

Turn on split sales
Split sales start off. The owner turns them on in Settings › Preferences › Allow split sales.
Split a sale
To split a sale as you enter it, choose Split this sale under Written By in Record a Sale.
A sale a report marks "Multiple" waits for its two producers. You can split it from four places:
- Home: under Top Producers, a line lists this month's sales that aren't split yet. Click Split them →.
- Sales Log: the Not split yet filter shows every sale waiting for its two producers. Click Split… on the sale.
- After an upload: the upload's result lists the sales to split. Click Split them now.
- Settings › Team Members: click the name's line, "'Multiple': 3 sales to split →".
Pick the two producers and save.
What each producer sees
Each producer counts half a policy and half the premium on Home, leaderboards, goals, their profile and Employee ROI. Vera and the daily digest count it the same way. A producer with 10 sales and one split sale shows 10.5. The office still counts the sale once.
How pay works
Each half is paid on that producer's own plan.
Example. Marie and Mark split a $1,000 auto policy. Marie's plan pays 12% and Mark's pays 8%. Marie earns $60 and Mark earns $40. A $25 per-policy bonus pays $12.50 to each.
If the policy is charged back, each producer gives back only their own half. Each half is marked paid on its own, in that producer's pay run.
Undo a split
In the Sales Log, click the ½ beside the two names and choose Undo split. A sale can't be split or un-split once either half is paid. Undo that payout first.
Sales from reports marked "Multiple"
Some reports name a shared sale "Multiple" instead of a person. Mark that name as Not a person in Settings. Until it's split, the sale counts for the office, not for any one person.
